Welcome back diners! Here is the June red transferware challenge. Its hard to believe that its the end of June already, I should begin planning challenge #7!
Its not uncommon, even into late summer to wake to a grey, drizzly morning here in the Pacific NW. Often in the evening the winds will pick up and blow in a "low marine deck" of clouds from the coast. So even into the summer a candle in a cheery, vintage candlestick may be the perfect option. In this case, a chippy, shabby chic cherry candlestick to brighten up the morning. Frequently, the sun will burn through the clouds by mid-afternoon, keeping our region green and thankfully cooler.
This table is the June Red Trasnferware challenge #6, a pairing of my random red transferware dinner plates with my cheery coffee service: Gien Oiseau Bleu with hand painted fruits.
I also used this sweet vintage cherry table cloth - the blues and reds are a perfect match!
And an Avon Cranberry bowl for some added color. The thistle spoon is one of my favorites.
This little tea towel with its red border...so cute! Its made its way into several blogs, definitely a favorite!
These napkins were sold as a pair with the same border and color, but one had a monogram while the other had an embroidered mandala of some kind. I am wondering if it was common for the host and hostess to have the monogrammed set while guests had something coordinated? I've not seen this before. Please comment if you have knowledge or other ideas!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed the June table, and I hope to get one more table set by end of this month. Please take a moment to pop into the on-line store: Slug-n-Nettle. Many of the items on the table are for sale. Also, don't forget to visit our sponsors: NOWVI, Dress the Table (vintage rentals), and Parties by Michon.
Hope to see you again soon, until then enjoy something beautiful! ~d
