May 2022: time for roses – Derby day!

Hello diners! Welcome back and join in the celebration. I’ve always wanted to have a Kentucky Derby party alas I never think to actually plan for it. So, here we are: a Derby Day table and even timely for the May 7, 2022 event. Enjoy the fun event, before you go grab a mint julep.

This snaffle-bit tray was perfect for the mint juleps, in classic julep cups – a favorite of mine.

I started with red table cloth and added black and white stripped runners and included lots of hats in black, red, and white.

I found these salad plates, Franciscan “Equus” and these beautiful Spode “Ruby & Gilt” bread and butter plates.

I added in Oneida “Coronation” flatware and these stemless wine glasses, with lots of gold.

and lots of silverplate hollowware

I love this vintage rocks set. The ruby and gold was a perfect match for the setting.

Here’s a great example of how to re-envision vintage: an old Oneida chaffing dish. I added a crystal bowl, now a perfect raised salad bowl!

Mint from my herb garden. Its take over an entire bed!

Thank you for popping in today, hope you enjoyed the festivities! The Equus, Ruby, and Coronation patterns are available for rent through Dress the Table (our vintage rental company) www.dressthetable.jacobsendesign.com for your next event! Hope to see you back later in May for a closer look at more roses and silverplate hollowware – a perfect combination.

Please feel free to leave a comment and share with others who may enjoy. Until next time, enjoy something beautiful, ~d
