The colors of spring: Nest

Welcome back diners!

I've come to the conclusion that certain colors that work so well together are literally the colors of nature. In this case, brown and robin's egg blue.

March is going to kick off a four-part series dedicated to the colors of spring. For the first post, as I watch the birds making their nests, I was inspired by one of my own favorite color combinations and dug into my own collection of nests for this table-setting.

Don't worry, no birds were harmed or displaced in the makings of this collection! I have discovered this assortment of nests, abandoned on the ground. With the exception of the hanging one near the top, given to me by a dear friend Pam B.

I began with these fun blue linen and jute "placemats" that are actually for pillows, followed by twig chargers. The plates are blue glass by Pier 1 and Spode Woodland. The flatware is actually a Thai set, but the wooden handles and brass worked too well to pass by.

The charming blue wine and water glasses are on loan from our sponsor Nowvi, they were also perfect for this setting.

The napkin rings are part of the Regency Blues Napkin Blings collection. You can find them in the Slug-N-Nettle shop!
