The colors of spring: Nest

Danielle Lord

There are just certain color combinations that work well together. I've come to the conclusion that they are the colors of nature. In this case brown and robin's egg blue. Here is the first of a four-part series dedicated to the colors of spring. Enjoy!

I used a variety of materials including these twig chargers, blue glass Pier 1 plates, Spode Woodland salad plates, Thai flatware (the brown and brass just worked together so well), these charming blue glasses, and a variety of nests from my collection. Note: no birds were harmed in collecting these nests. Each one was found abandoned and on the ground over the course of several years.

The "placemats" are actually pillow covers, and perfect for this setting, they are linen with a jute edge.

The blue glasses were on loan from our sponsor Nowvi.

This is one my Napkin Blings, napkin rings made from vintage jewelry, you can find them in the Slug N Nettle shop, this is part of the Regency Blues collection.
